Radical Wandering:

The Way of the Elder

with

and

George Callan, PhD, LMFT

A Call to women in the third trimester of life-

Women have always known that their wisdom and power is deepened and expanded in the circle of community. We come together with one eye inward on the ever-deepening personal story, and one eye outward on a world longing for tenderness. We come together to assert our awareness that the world needs us to cultivate the attributes of the Feminine Elder:

Truth Teller
Story Teller
Memory Keeper
Wild Woman
Visionary
Leader
Fierce Advocate for a Suffering World

This is the first in a series of programs for elder visionaries.  Situating ourselves on the map, first of our own lives, then of our familial lives, then our nested communal life, we come together to tend the forces that ennoble our time and place in humanity, and to harvest our creativity and passion in the presence of a world becoming increasingly violent, unconscious and polarized.

Radical Wandering is an invitation to step on to the mapless path of your own journey and take up the mantel of the Feminine Elder.  We gather to enlarge and illuminate our personal and collective stories in the theatre of communitas. Together we will sharpen our visionary and creative capacities to imagine a world that is not only safe, but sacred.

If these notions entice you, come join us in an extended experience of art, myth, dream, ritual, poetics, music, movement, story telling and reverie.

 Radical Wandering will take place

  1. ENTICEMENT TO ELDERSHIP:  Mythos
    Re-membering and re-visioning our stories
  2. CARTOGRAPHY OF THE SOUL:  Into the Woods
Setting the mythic compass; a date with the unknown
  3. ELDER AT THE CROSSWORLDS: Grief and Longing
Meeting of the personal psyche and the world psyche
  4. ELDER AT HOME IN THE WORLD: Re-enchantment
    Dancing the zeitgeist forward
“Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road, and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again. Wanderer, there is no road— Only wakes upon the sea.
— Antonio Machado
